Please post my FULL review. It's a little bit longer, but covers key points! :-)
I have three words for all dental professionals and Stanley shoppers: BUY ORACARE RINSE. I have a medical science research background, and looked carefully into many such products before choosing this Dental Rinse. The efficacy of ORACARE, combined with its safety for natural and artificial teeth, appliances, and oral mucosa, is backed up by the research.
I wish more practices would take a moment to educate their colleagues and their patients to use this rinse every day at home, even if you're starting out with already very good oral hygiene. It has a mildly minty taste, and no burning, so don't be put off by the idea of rinsing with a mild solution of chlorine dioxide. The idea of chlorhexidine should bother you far more, to be honest. You have to take the extra 60 seconds to pump out the product from two bottles and activate it in the handy dispenser cup, but if your life is so jam-packed that 60 seconds is JUST TOO MUCH, the stress is likely already killing you, so you won't need the Oracare anyway from beyond the grave...
I paid mucho dinero for orthodontics as an adult, and have permanent retainer wires behind the upper and lower front teeth, plus a nighttime Hawley retainer. I love using Oracare in any which way: sometimes I rinse first, then floss, then brush. Sometimes I brush, then floss, then rinse. Sometimes I'll do a quick rinse of water followed by Oracare if I want to freshen up in the middle of the day.
My gums are happy, and any small gingival pockets stay small when my hygienist measures them at cleaning visits. I drink a fair bit of tea and coffee, and eat lots of tomato sauces, and I find this helps keep my teeth white, though I haven't yet formally measured that with a color strip from the dentist - that's next on my list of things to review with Oracare.
It has healed painful cracking at the side of my mouth that happens especially in Wintertime or when my medications change. It contains Xylitol, which is well proven to reduce plaque formation and bacterial adherence, and to inhibit enamel demineralization (look into the Turku Sugar Studies from the 1970s). Just remember: Xylitol is HIGHLY, HIGHLY toxic to DOGS, so keep it properly shelved. I love dogs. Woof. :-)
If you are hesitating, bite the proverbial bullet and try this product. Don't be a lazybones. Use it honestly, once a day, until the bottles run out. Use your fingertip to wipe the last few drops from the mixing cup around your lips and along the corners of your mouth, and gargle properly with it after swishing. I give it a full minute of contact time with the mouth.
Worth every penny :-)
A grateful customer though Stanley Dentistry, with easy online ordering so far! Happy Easter, y'all. MH.
